The fab weather over Easter had the majority of caravanners out and about at Shanlieve and what better way to keep the kids occupied than pony rides around the park! Gamekeepers Lodge kindly offered to bring down a few of their most timid & friendly ponies to meet the enthuastic children & give rides. The event had a fantastic turn out & was enjoyed by all.

Easter Saddle Club at Gamekeepers Equestrian was a fantastic chance for children of all ages and capabilities to get involved with the day to day caring for a pony as well as teaching the essential skills required to ride.
Each day the club started with the children greeting their pony, leading it from the stable and securing it outside while they mucked out it’s stable and laid a fresh straw bed & provided food and water for the pony to feed when it returned later. Gamekeepers Lodge Equestrian Centre cater for all equestrians with a state of the art indoor arena, two outdoor arenas and an all weather cross country course which can be hired to the public.
We have teamed up with Hazel & Ruth Baird at Gamekeepers to put together a Saddle Club package for our caravanner’s suitable for 5+ years. The club will run from 14-16th Apriland is available to Shanlieve residents at a discounted rate of £15 per day or £40 for all 3 days.

Milne Holiday Parks are open and in fully swing after a busy St Patrick’s day weekend. The weather was thankfully a lot calmer to that of previous months but damage is still apparent on Cranfield’s beach front.
Cranfield Bay Holiday Village manager Jonathan Gill helped highlight to the County Down Outlook the damage which still remains visible.

We all know in the last month the weather hasn’t been great but accompanied by a high tide Cranfield has suffered. As you can see from our pictures the shoreline has been all but destroyed.
The council have put cordons in place, some of which have been washed to sea!
Hopefully the high tide will pass and the council can get to work on repairing our beautiful beach back to its former glory all ready for Summer!
We have secured Montgomery Entertainments for an Easter scheme & workshop. It promises to be jam packed with activities, crafts, design, fun, dancing, singing, competitions & much much more. Places must be booked as they are limited and we know from last years summer scheme experience they fill up fast! Following the success and enjoyment of the summer scheme Montgomery Entertainments will be hosting a 3 day Easter themed arts & crafts workshop.

Once again the season finished on a high note with the annual end of season Halloween Bash. This year the themed party was “Superheroes”, adults and kids alike got into the spirit of things. The effort put into costumes was fantastic ranging from Wonder Woman, Cat Woman, Batman & Robin, Robo Cop, Spiderman and many more.
